A call for mobilizations for the Global Days of Action
on September 19-21!
We stand at a critical moment in history.
Powerful governments are veering toward authoritarianism and undoing decades of progress. Climate commitments are being delayed or dismantled. Multinational and fossil fuel corporations continue to drive chaos. Frontline communities face the worst impacts but are locked out of the decisions that affect them most. We need 2025 to be a turning point for our fight to change the system through an equitable and just transition!
Let’s reclaim our future from those who profit off its destruction!
This September, world leaders will convene at the UN General Assembly – six weeks ahead of COP30 in Brazil. We must use this moment to draw the line against chaos and fear, and towards urgent action. Let us draw the line for people power, democracy, and a safe and healthy future for all. Let us draw the line against corporate and billionaire greed, fossil fuel tyranny, authoritarianism, patriarchy, racism, and structural injustices and inequalities.
Global, regional, and national justice movements will hold mass mobilizations on 19-21 September as part of a series of global action moments that began on June 27-29. From the Amazon to the Pacific, in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, Europe, North America, and the Arab region – we will rise together in our communities, streets, squares, and halls of power all over the world through coordinated mass rallies and marches, community-led actions at multinational corporations and fossil fuel sites, human chains, and workers’ and social movements’ strikes, walkouts and solidarity actions.
This September, let us carry the following Demands
| 1 | Change the System through an equitable and just transition towards a world that is in harmony with nature and centered on people – communities, workers, women, farmers, fishers, pastoralists, youth, children, indigenous peoples, migrants, refugees, people of color, LGBTQI*, and future generations |
| 2 | Phase out fossil fuels – fast, fair, feminist, and forever; Shut down polluters; Build renewable energy systems that work for people and planet; Shift from high-carbon agro-industrial farming to agroecology and sustainable, resilient food systems that prioritize healthy staple food production for domestic consumption and the right to food |
| 3 | Fund the future, not the crisis! Tax multinational corporations and billionaires; Cancel the debt; Deliver climate finance; Divest from war, fossil fuels, and harmful projects; Scale up quality public services; Support people and community-led solutions; Finance the transition to resilient, sustainable, and equitable economies. |
| 4 | Reclaim the Commons for sustainable support for life; Respect and uphold the territories of Indigenous Peoples and Traditional Communities; Restore the health of ecosystems; Stop extractivism |
| 5 | Defend Human Rights and Reclaim Democracy; End war and genocide; Demilitarise and work for peace based on justice |
| 6 | End inequalities across countries and within countries: Democratize global economic and financial governance; Make trade, investments, and tax systems just and fair; Redistribute wealth and power; End colonialism, patriarchy, and racism; Build solidarity across peoples and nations |
