What is the MENA Fem Annual Feminist Economics Ecological Justice School?
The MENA Fem Annual Feminist Economics School, organized in collaboration with IDEAs, is a one-week regional gathering bringing together feminist activists, researchers, and practitioners from across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).
This year’s edition will focus on the intersections of feminist and heterodox economics with the political economy of energy — exploring how global financial and trade systems, climate governance, and extractivist development models shape energy transitions in the region, and how feminist perspectives can re-imagine a just and equitable transformation.
Goals of the School
• Build critical understanding of feminist and heterodox economics in relation to the MENA context.
• Create a space for cross-country feminist dialogue and collective learning.
• Reimagine energy transitions, production, and care economies through decolonial, ecological, and gender-just lenses.
Topics of Interest
Facilitators may propose sessions related to:
• Feminist and heterodox approaches to economics and development.
• Political economy of energy, extraction, and deindustrialization in MENA.
• International Financial Architecture and its gendered impacts.
• Social Reproduction Theory and the political economy of care.
• Climate justice and feminist visions for a just transition.
• Debt, austerity, and feminist alternatives to structural adjustment.
Who Can Apply?
We invite facilitators who are:
• Feminist economists, researchers, or activists from or working in the MENA region.
• Experienced in leading workshops, trainings, or popular education spaces.
• Engaged in feminist, ecological, or decolonial analysis of economic structures.
Facilitators can propose one or multiple sessions (around 1.5 hours each), including interactive or consecutive sessions that combine theory and practice.
Your Application Should Include:
• A short bio and field of expertise.
• Title and summary of your proposed session(s).
• A short vision statement explaining how your session connects to the theme “Feminist Economics and the Political Economy of Energy: Towards a Just Transition in MENA.”
• Session outline or methodology (interactive tools, readings, or case studies if applicable).

ما هي مدرسة مينافيم السنوية للاقتصاد النسوي والعدالة الإيكولوجية؟
المدرسة النسوية للاقتصاد هي مساحة إقليمية، بالتعاون مع شبكة IDEAs، تجمع بين الباحثات والباحثين والناشطات والناشطين النسويين من منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال إفريقيا المهتمين بقضايا الاقتصاد النسوي والعدالة الاقتصادية والبيئية.
تسعى النسخة الحالية إلى استكشاف كيف يمكن للاقتصاد النسوي وغير التقليدي أن يقدّم بدائل جذرية للنماذج الاقتصادية السائدة، وأن يفكك الإرث الاستعماري الكامن في البنية المالية العالمية، وأن يرسم مسارات نحو عدالة اجتماعية وبيئية واقتصادية في المنطقة.
أهداف المدرسة
* بناء قدرات الحركة النسوية في المنطقة.
* بناء فهم نقدي للاقتصاد النسوي وغير التقليدي في سياق المنطقة العربية.
* إنشاء منصة لتبادل المعرفة بين منظمات وشبكات المجتمع المدني بمنطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا.
* خلق مساحة للتبادل المعرفي والحوار النسوي العابر للحدود.
* توفير فرص للتشبيك والتضامن داخل الحركة النسوية.
* إعادة تخيّل مفاهيم التنمية والإنتاج والرعاية من منظور نسوي، بيئي، ولا استعماري.
محاور المدرسة
ندعو لتقديم جلسات تتناول واحدًا أو أكثر من المحاور التالية:
* أسس الاقتصاد النسوي وغير التقليدي.
* النظام المالي الدولي وتأثيراته الجندرية على دول المنطقة.
* نظرية إعادة الإنتاج الاجتماعي واقتصاديات الرعاية.
* أزمة المناخ والتحول الاقتصادي العادل في المنطقة.
* العدالة في مواجهة الديون، التقشّف، والخصخصة.
* الاقتصاد السياسي للاستخراج والعمل والهجرة.
من يمكنه التقديم؟
تدعو حركة مينافيم الميسّرات والميسّرين من:
* الباحثات والباحثين النسويين أو الاقتصاديين النقديين في المنطقة.
* الناشطات والناشطين المهتمين بتقاطع الاقتصاد، البيئة، والنسوية.
* من لديهم خبرة في تيسير ورش أو مساحات تعليم سياسي نسوي.
يمكن تقديم مقترح لجلسة واحدة أو أكثر (مدة الجلسة الواحدة نحو ساعة ونصف)، على أن تتنوع الأساليب بين النظرية والتفاعلية.
يجب أن تتضمن استمارة التقديم:
* نبذة تعريفية مختصرة عن الميسرة/الميسر ومجال التخصص.
* عنوان الجلسة المقترحة وملخصها.
* بيان قصير يوضح الصلة بين الجلسة وموضوع المدرسة: الاقتصاد النسوي وغير التقليدي من أجل عدالة اقتصادية وبيئية في المنطقة.
* خطة أو منهجية الجلسة (بما في ذلك أدوات التفاعل أو المواد المقترحة إن وُجدت).
