Amena Sharaf: Climate and Economic Justice Officer
Amena Sharaf is an environmental and climate justice researcher and activist. She has been working on mapping and fighting environmental challenges and addressing their interplay with social, economic and gender complexities in Egypt. She has worked for multiple Human Rights organizations and contributed to multiple works including a chapter in the book “Why Women Will Save the Planet” and and articles on multiple platforms in MENA. Amena has been engaging with climate negotiations and diplomacy for over 10 years, she believes in adopting feminist values, intersectionality and collective movement building in fighting for a climate resilient and liberated world. She has experience in training and campaigning and holds an LLB and an MA in Social Anthropology of Humanitarian and Environmental Crises from the University of Kent.
