Coming Soon: “Austerity Radio” – a New Podcast from MENAFem
First episode of "Austerity Radio" drops on April 25th
MENAFem is launching its very first podcast, “Austerity Radio”, next week. This new audio space opens up critical conversations around feminist economic thought and its relevance in our region, especially in the face of deepening crises driven by neoliberal policies, old and new forms of colonialism, and entrenched structural inequalities.
In Austerity Radio, we explore how feminist perspectives can offer a different way of understanding the economy—one that centers values often overlooked: care, solidarity, social justice, and community-based, local economies. We ask difficult questions about justice and the distribution of wealth, and we search for tangible alternatives to extractive systems that drain people and the planet alike. This podcast is an invitation to collective thinking, radical imagination, and envisioning economies that prioritize both people and the planet.
🎧 The first episode drops on Thursday, April 25, on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and YouTube. Listen to the trailer below for a glimpse of the themes this season will cover.
Austerity Radio is a podcast by MENA Fem Movement for Economic, Development, and Ecological Justice and is produced by Sowt.
