On March 27, 2024, MENA Fem, together with 10 other civil society organizations, sent an open letter to Mrs. Nadia Calviño, President of the European Investment Bank (EIB), regarding the EIB Global Strategic Roadmap. The letter highlighted the urgent need for meaningful consultation, particularly with stakeholders in the Global South who bear the brunt of the Bank’s development operations. Emphasizing transparency, strengthened partnerships, and the active involvement of recipient countries in decision-making processes, the organizations articulated their shared goal of ensuring that the EIB’s global strategy upholds principles of sustainable development, human rights, and environmental protection. This collective effort represents a unified call for the EIB to prioritize inclusive dialogue and engagement with all pertinent stakeholders, aiming for a more equitable and impactful approach to global development.
