MENA Fem Movement for Economical, Development and Ecological Justice

Statement on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women

Every year, from November 25 to December 10, the world marks 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, a global campaign dedicated to raising awareness, strengthening advocacy, and demanding accountability for ending violence against women and girls. As these 16 days begin, the urgency of our collective action becomes even clearer, especially as conflicts, climate crises, and economic inequalities continue to deepen the vulnerabilities faced by women across the Global South.

In this context, MENAFem is proud to release its official statement for the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. This statement reflects our commitment to feminist economics, ecological justice, and the dismantling of systems that fuel gendered oppression. It calls attention to the intertwined forms of violence—environmental, economic, political, and physical—that shape women’s lives, while reaffirming our vision for a just, sustainable, and feminist future.
