Launch 5 Feminist Resources on Economic and Climate Justice in Arabic! – MENAFem/Action Nexus Event

The Feminist Action Nexus for Economic and Climate Justice, in collaboration with the MENA Fem Movement for Economic Development and Ecological Justice, cordially invites you to a special event, on 21 February at 9am ET/14:00 UTC (Register here). We are thrilled to launch five resources that shed light on the profound gap between the existing global order and the feminist vision for economic and climate justice advocated by the Feminist Action Nexus and our allies. Authored by experts in their fields, these works provide a foundational framework for collective feminist advocacy and analysis.

These are:

  • A Blueprint for Feminist Economic Justice, in which Diyana Yahaya explores economic structures through a feminist perspective, highlighting local struggles and global advocacy proposals.
  • Bhumika Muchhala’s A Brief on a Feminist Decolonial Global Green New Deal adds a unique layer by intertwining feminism, decolonization, and environmental justice.
  • Sanam Amin’s A Brief on Human Rights & the Private Sector sheds light on the intricate relationship between human rights and corporate activities.
  • The Key Demands of the Feminist Action Nexus, summarizing the main policy recommendations emerging from the conceptual framework outlined in the pieces by Diyana, Bhumika, and Sanam;
  • And our new Critical Trends Report, which serves to take stock of progress towards—and against—these recommendations.

 

Together, these resources contribute crucial insights, forming the bedrock of our endeavor to comprehend and address contemporary challenges through a feminist lens. Available in Arabic for the first time, these reports delve into recent developments, particularly since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, offering insights into our progress in transforming systems for feminist economic and climate justice.

Join MENAFem/Action Nexus launch of Arabic translation, for this enriching experience where we will share key findings from the reports, with a feminist lens, ’on February 21 at 9 AM EST/14:00 UTC. Additionally, the reports itself will be shared in Arabic, French, Spanish and English.

  • يلقي ملخص سنام أمين عن حقوق الإنسان والقطاع الخاص الضوء على العلاقة المعقدة بين حقوق الإنسان وأنشطة الشركات.
  • المطالب الرئيسية لرابطة العمل النسوي، والتي تلخص توصيات السياسة الرئيسية الناشئة عن الإطار المفاهيمي الموضح في المقالات التي أعدتها ديانا وبوميكا وسنام؛
  • وتقريرنا الجديد Critical Trends ، والذي يعمل على تقييم التقدم المحرز تجاه هذه التوصيات وضدها.
